Terms of service

Due to the tremendously varied nature of the work I undertake, I do not have a standardized terms of service and tend to make individual arrangements with each customer according to their requirements. But there are some common elements.

Invoicing

  • I provide itemised invoices detailing the work that has been carried out and pointing to future work that might be required. My work for you is invoiced within a few days of the work being completed and most customers pay promptly by Bacs/internet transfer.

  • Initial chats and consultations are free.

  • If absolutely necessary, I can accept cash but that is now very rare.

  • To help your cash-flow and mine, large projects are invoiced weekly to spread your bills and my costs over the period of the project.

Safety

Due to the obvious dangers inherent on working on cars and vehicles in a workshop or outside, you are responsible for your safety on site and if I’m called out to your vehicle.

  • At all times follow the health and safety advice given to you.

  • Work neatly and methodically and remove spills of oils, coolants, grease and other hazards immediately.

  • Wear suitable clothing and footwear, preferable wear steel toe-capped work shoes. Wear clothes than you don’t mind getting very dirty or bring overalls. You must also ensure that long hair is tied back and that you do not have any clothing or jewelry that might get caught in moving machinery.

  • Utilize ear, eye and hand protection and other protective clothing where appropriate and when instructed.

  • Remove trip hazards and keep the workshop tidy.

Behaviour

Sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia and prejudices against othered groups such as trans people, polyamorous people and religious people is not tolerated in the workshop or on the premises.
